what is BandWidth ?

I had a chat with my Dolphin this afternoon and he asked me what is BandWidth? ( which I'm not good in explaining hehehe ) so I did some googling and this is what I get ..

Amount of traffic transmitted from the site.

Denotes the width of the frequency band used to transmit data. The broader the bandwidth, the faster the connection.

The amount of data that can be transmitted via a given communications channel (eg, between a hard drive and the host PC) in a given unit of time.

The range of frequencies in a signal.

This is a measure of the amount of information or data that can be sent over a network connection in a given period of time. Bandwidth is usually measure in bits per second

So my lovely Dolphin..now I know how am I going to explain it to you :) ehe *winks*
